Providing feedback

You are invited to give your views on the service you received when making an application for ethical review.
We would be grateful if you would consider completing this feedback form and/or offering any comments about the service you have received. We value your views which will be used to inform the operational system and improve our service. Only complete parts of the form you wish to and do not feel you must answer all questions.

Please note the scores you give will be collated and published in a confidential form (i.e. not identifying you or REC involved) on the NRES website and will be presented by country not by individual REC.

Any comments you give will also be included in a management report (the RECs and your name will not be included in the report) that is reviewed by the NRES Management Group and some comments may later be individually followed up by operational managers with the REC involved where it is felt a discussion will improve our service in the future, your name will not be given.  If you do not wish your comments to be followed up in this way please tick the box by the comments box.

If you wish to make a complaint about the service you have received you should raise it either directly with the REC or contact the Deputy Head of Operations (sheila.oliver@nres.nhs.uk).

Please note this form is intended to obtain your views when seeking ethical approval only and you should not include any experiences gained when seeking R&D or management approval for your research.

Thank you for providing feeding back – outcome from previous feedback received

The User Satisfaction Report for the period October 2010 to March 2011 was reviewed by the Head and Deputy Head of Operations and the following action was undertaken:
  • The positive comments received about 7 RECs and 1 Proportionate Review Sub-Committee were sent to the Coordinators and Chairs of those committees for information.
  • 11 negative comments were related to the individual RECs for further investigation and review so that action could be taken, where appropriate and also to determine whether there was any link to complaints.
  • 4 negative comments were noted where action had already been undertaken to address the issue.
  •  4 negative comments relating to the London LAS system were noted and included as part of an on-going action plan.
  • Negative comments about 2 RECs which are now closed were noted.
